What civilization or nation deserves to have its own TL?

Many forgotten civilizations, empires, kingdoms, etc., were crucial in human history or at least very influential in the regions they were established. Some that I think deserve a TL, or more use, are the Chola Empire, Mesoamerican civilizations, and Bronze Age kingdoms, such as Mitanni. Moving to the Medieval period in Europe, why the Italian maritime republics or the powerful Kingdom of Sicily don't appear more often? What about the Kingdom of the Lombards?

Although there could be similar older threads about this topic, it'd be pretty nice to read fresh ideas.

Thing with many, speciality ancient nations, problem is that there is so few of information to gather.

But these nations/cultures would are intresting:

- Chola
- Hittite Empire (altugh unfotunately there is not too much information existing)
- Etruscans
- Germanic kingdoms between fall of West Rome and rise of Carolingian Empire
- Anglosaxon kingdoms
- Italian maritime republics (speciality if some else than Venice or Florence)
- Russian principalities after dissolution of Kievan Rus and rise of Muscovite Rus.
- Post-Mongol Empire khanates

Armenia, there’s several points in both ancient and medieval history where there could have been a vastly more successful Armenian empire

Also most of the kingdoms conquered by Rome between the 2nd Punic war and Julius Caesar, like Mithridates’ kingdom of Pontus

Alongside the collectively named Paleosiberians, I think the pre-Sinitic civilizations of southern China (e.g. mainland Austro-Tais and Hmong-Mien) deserved better destinies, although it need some geographical (and prehistoric) ASB intervention.

More TL about Ethiopia, but make have some logic. Because when they put a country like this, it's usually hugely Wank (to the point that it takes away the entertainment of reading). I've read in a TL about Ethiopia winning a naval war in the Atlantic against the Portuguese (which is ridiculous).

The Caucasus in general is underdone. I'd like to see a Tamar the Great timeline someday, or maybe one where the Azeris end up in charge of Persia rather than "merely" very influential. Also, the First and Second Saudi states, the Gulf emirates before they found the oil, pre-Islamic Yemen, medieval Yemen, Oman (for a sultanate that got all the way to Zanzibar, it's amazing how little it appears here).

The Cholas without doubt.... Awesome emperors, brilliant campaigns, just amazing characters.... It's a piece of history written for the sake of a TL.... Kalki's Ponniyan Selvan series, and the movie of the same name, do a bit to capture that essence a bit I think.

Moreover, any Indian Empire will do the job.... Modern Empire like the Marathas and Mughals do get mentions in some TL but the ancient ones (Maurya, Gupta, Harshavardhan, Ikshavaku) deserve their own

Latin Empire is pretty underrated. Everyone loves the Byzantines, and then there's a minority of people who got sick of Byzantophilia so will write about the Ottomans, but never the Latin Empire. This is despite many opportunities for the Latin Empire itself to survive or even be restored after its collapse and the link between the Latin Empire and many important families in Western Europe.

On that note, the Bulgarian and Serbian Empires of the Middle Ages, even as a massive Byzzieboo, would be quite interesting to explore in an alternate history where either Bulgaria or Serbian rulers were able to become "Emperors of the Romans". Ditto for an Eastern Roman Empire restored by Trebizond or Epirus instead of Nicaea like OTL.

The Aztecs might make an interesting timeline.
This is a damn good one:
