As we know Jimmy Adamson was the FA's first choice as England Manager when Walter Winterbottom resigned in 1962 (or was pushed it depends on your interpretation!). It is on record that he nearly turned the job down. What would have happened if he had done? Who would the FA have turned to? Would we have still won the World Cup in 1966 with Jimmy Greaves scoring those 3 wonderful goals?
