There's a TL concept in my mind

In summer 2013, a prodigy 10 years girls accidentally listened the 2Pac and Biggie, from that moment she fell in love with old school hip hop

She noticed that in mid 2010s , the old school isn't the mainstream anymore, she decided to take it back.

Since winter 2013, she published a lot the old school style rap songs which written by herself on YouTube, and meanwhile using vine to gain more attention.

After one year, she became the most popular and youngest rapper in the world, like Kris Kross in 1992. Ice Cube , Dr Dre ,Snoop Dogg , Eminem, 50 cent and Nas ,all of them affirmed her.

People were shocked by her lyrical talent.

In TTL 2016, old school style rap became the mainstream again since 2007, it strangles the career of Cardi B, Doja cat, Lil pump and 6ix9ine.

Basically mumble rap is dead

But XXXtentaction still popular, despite his music style isn't old school , and he never killed in 2018

This girl also encouraged more children to become the artist, Like musicians Finn Wolfhard and his indie rock band Calpurnia , they became as big as Coldplay or Green Day, bring back the popularity of rock music to Gen Z generation

Also this girl and Kids rap group Bar and Melody became the best friend, this group won the golden buzzer by Simon Cowell in 2014, they love old school as well.

In late 2010s,the music ecology is totally different from OTL. the popular music genre have:

Old School hip hop
Emo Rap (lead by XXXTENTACTION)
Teenager rock music
Indie Rock
EDM (Avicii never died saved the late 2010s EDM)
Gen Z emo (lead by Billie Elish)

In TTL, nobody thinks that “Oh music nowadays is suck and doomed!”

Here's other things which changed by the butterfly effect :

August 2014, after seeing a genius young girl shining her light to the younger generation, Robin Williams decided lived longer

Musically released in 2014, but it's a big failure, it lead to Tiktok never created

Vine never died

EDM never died

Harambe incident never happened

Paul Walker never died in November 2013 (Pod August 2013)

Stephen Hillenburg and Chadwick Boseman never died in 2018

There's a new rap genre which called " Classic hip hop" , old school hip hop mix with classical music

Political correctness never took the Movie industry

Millie Bobby Brown became the actress and rapper

Corona still just a beer in TTL 2023

Cancel culture isn't a thing

KPOP isn't that popular

Stan Lee died in 2021 instead of 2018

Christina Grimmie never killed

Disney never action remake of their old animation

Gravity Falls and Regular show still on the TV in TTL 2023

YouTube 2018 rewind is actually good

Smosh never went downhill after 2015

Kobe Bryant never died in 2020

One Direction still around, never broke up

Lady Gaga and Kesha still popular

The rock bands like American Author, One Republic, The Vamps, 5 Seconds Of Summer is popular in TTL 2023

Ok.

Why accidentally?

That's GREAT! I'd LOVE to see this!

This is some good stuff.

Huge ramble incoming aaa

Gaming:

-Gaming in general is a lot less focused on graphics and more on content. Most games TTL still look like OTL's xbox 360 era.
-Nintendo still releases an analogue to the Wii U, while it still underperforms it doesn't do as bad as OTL (Mainly due to not having Wii in the name, let's tentatively name this console "Nintendo NX")
-As a result, the Nintendo switch comes out as a much more powerful console than OTL.
-Nintendo also drops their "No price drops" policy when it comes to their own games.
-Instead of entering the console market, Microsoft decides to instead promote PC as ultimate gaming platforms.
-Zeebo doesn't flop and becomes a success as the people's alternative for gaming. The current gen console, Zeebo Alfa is performing amazingly in Brazil, India, Indonesia, Nigeria and Mexico, receiving ports for games from the 7th generation of consoles.
-Gacha game model never makes it outside mobile
-Activision goes bankrupt, call of duty never makes it past their ww2 games.
-EA goes bankrupt after an alternate version of the Sims 2 flops and never gets to buy anything.
-Black is this TL's gold standard for shooters.
-Doom 3 is wildly different, basically a much earlier version of Doom eternal.
-Daikatana comes out a pretty solid game.
-Alex Gembe never leaks the Half life 2 beta. With less worries, Valve makes a longer game with some extra chapters.
-Half life episode three releases shortly after episode two. We also get Return to Ravenholm, a spinoff where corporal Adrian Shephard fights through hordes of Combine and Zombies alongside Father Grigori. Half life 3 has been scheduled for release by 2024, aiming to be Valve's longest and most massive game.
-The heavy update comes out in 2020. The TF2 comics gets more releases.
-Metal gear rising retains it's original plot, Raiden fights the patriots and rescues Sunny. A sequel with OTL's MGR plot comes out later in 2021.
-MGS4 gets a pc port.
-Shantae, Dante, The doomslayer, Gordon Freeman, Sub zero/Scorpion, Kratos, Leon S.Kennedy and Reimu Hakurei all make it to smash ultimate as playable characters.
-Xenoblade X gets a Switch port in 2018. Shulk ends up with Melia instead of Fiora in xenoblade 1, their half-entia kid shows up later in Xenoblade 3 Future redeemed.

Bethesda (They get their own section cuz they're my childhood):

-TES4 Oblivion has about the same storyline as OTL's, but it takes place in High Rock instead of Cyrodiil. Cyrodiil is still a lush Khemer style jungle.
-Oblivion also has a better leveling system and levitation spells.
-Fallout 3 has a similar story but it takes place in Oregon instead of Washington DC. Plus you can join the enclave or just not help the brotherhood if you don't feel like it.
-Some shifts in the industry cause TES5 to go full back to Morrowind's hardcore RPG system rather than cut down features and make already existing ones lamer.
-Skyrim's combat is also a lot more polished, including a combo system for melee oriented playstyle, becoming the gold standard when it comes to 1st person combat gameplay.
-Storywise, the entirety of the dragon plot is dropped, instead the game's storyline focuses on political intrigue with the Thalmor as the main villains, who destabilize the empire from the inside. The stormcloaks seek a full on revival of the ancient nordic pantheon rather than worshiping Talos. You also have the option to join the Thalmor or make yourself High king of Skyrim through conquest.
-Obsidian gets full time to finish Fallout New Vegas, creating a game with very few bugs and all of OTL's cut content making it to retail.
-After New Vegas's sound success, Bethesda handles the fallout ip to Obsidian.
-Fallout 4 is set in NYC instead of Boston. Instead of the brotherhood, we get a very similar power armor clad faction composed of the post war remnants of the US army. The whole institute plot still exists but is a lot better written. As a byproduct of this, the railroad don't end up as the clown faction of the game.
-With Bethesda never making fallout 76, they finish Starfield earlier in 2018, taking direct inspirations from Obsidian's fallout games.
-TES6, set in High rock, has just released, including conquest elements from games like Mount and blade. The game revolves around the Redguard's stand against the combined forces of the Dominion and the Empire.
-Fallout: New Orleans has been scheduled for release by 2025.

TV:

-A last minute deal is reached and the Writer's guild strike of 2007 never happens.
-Watchmen is made into a 6 episode miniseries rather than a movie, retaining OTL's cast. It's also directed by someone who follows the og comic color palettes.
-Breaking bad has an arc in season 5 involving Walt Jr. Finding Walt's meth and devolving into a drug addiction.
-GOT get's a better ending,

Music:

-Reggaeton gets popular in the early 2010's before everyone gets sick tired of it and fades into obscurity.
-Salsa, Cumbia, Romantic pop ala Luis Miguel, Rock bands influenced directly by Soda stereo and latin american indigenous rap and metal are the norm in Latin american music.
-Juanes makes a metal side band.
-Ricardo Arjona less popular, Chayanne even more popular.
-Shakira makes rock instead.
-American pop dies out in the late 2000's. Metal and Synthwave are a lot more mainstream and are common to be heard in the radio.
-Rap resembles older 90's rap. Trap is not a thing.

Movies:

-John Boorman's crazy LOTR movie gets made. Peter Jackson's movies get made too and are exactly as OTL. Rather than a stretched Hobbit trilogy, we get a single epic 3 hour movie.
-Zack Snyder directs V for Vendetta instead, resulting in a gritty and extremely accurate adapation. The Wachowsky's instead direct the MGS1 live action, starring David Hayter himself as Snake.
-George Miller's Justice league mortal is the start of this tl's DCEU
-Avengers: Endgame is vastly different, with the avengers traveling back in time only to mess up the timeline even more. In the end, the effects of the snap are not reversed.
-Hulk is casted as Mark Ruffalo since the beggining. A world war Hulk movie is made.
-Iron man 3 is better written, the stupid mandarin plot doesn't happen and the movie focuses on extremis instead.
-Thor: Love and thunder is never made.
-Sam Raimi is given full creative liberty for Dr. Strange 2
-Same with Spiderman 3, the movie focuses on Sandman and Harry as the main villains with the black suit as a small subplot.
-Sam Raimi makes Spiderman 4 with Kingpin as the main villain. The story loosely resembles that of OTL's Back in black.
-Andrew Garfield's Amazing spiderman 3 is made, a loose adaptation of the comic's clone saga.
-Instead of Tom Holland casted as a new spiderman, we get Maguire as the MCU's spiderman in Civil war, who mentors a live action version of Miles Morales who is to take his mantle after endgame.
-Stanley Kubrick's Napoleon gets made, becoming the highest grossing film of the 20th century.
-Disney doesn't drop on 2D animation. Frozen is made in 2D.
-Disney never buys Star wars.
-The sequel trilogy of star wars comes out in the 1990's adaptating of the Thrawn trilogy
-The prequel trilogy comes out in the 2010's.

Comic books:

-The comic code authority never happens.
-Without the CCA, the american comic industry is a lot less hyperfocused in superheroes and there's a lot more variety similar to japanese manga.
-One more day doesn't happen, Aunt May is allowed to die and Peter continues married.
-The Sins past storyline is never even thought of.

Anniemay and mango:

-Due to societal changes in Japan in the 90's, sexual harassment in anime becomes much less of the norm and discouraged.
-Anime designs are a lot less moe'y and more varied.
-Pokemon anime is an adaptation of Pokespecial instead
-Berserk gets a proper anime in the 2000's, adapting Black swordsman all the way to the end of conviction arc. A sequel titled "Berserk: The millenium falcon" is currently in emision, adapting from the namesake arc to the current Fantashia arc.
-Giorno shows up in Jojo's part 6.
-Vinland saga gets an earlier anime.
-Saint seiya gets the Hades saga as part of the actual anime instead of being made into movies. Plus, the Zeus saga actually goes somewhere.
-SAO never exists, the Isekai power fantasies of the 2010's are butterflied away.
-Neither does Mirai nikki, no Yandere trend in anime fan circles in the early 2010's.
-Oda has better pacing and One piece is a lot shorter.
-Fate stay night gets a kickass anime adaptation with an equally kickass latin spanish dub.
-Naruto: Orochimaru kills Sasuke and becomes a huge foe throughout shipudden after getting his body. Itachi is portrayed as a genocidal loser instead of a victim emo boy and gets murdered by Danzo. Nagato doesn't revive anyone. Hinata stays dead. Sakura is a much better written and sympathetic character and ends up with Naruto. Obito is never made into a character, Tobi is revealed to be Danzo instead. Madara is the final boss of the series, Kaguya is never made into a character.
-Boruto ain't made lol.
-Dragon ball GT is better written and more appreciated. Goku becomes adult again after turning ssj4.
-Dragon ball super is never made. The super movies (Except for Fukkatsu no F) do still get made tho.
-Bleach anime is continued.

People:

-Gustavo Ceratti never gets a stroke, he eventually retires and lives a fullfilling happy rest of his life.
-Chester Bennington doesn't take his own life and still does music to this day.
-Heath Ledger lives and goes to receive his 2009 oscar himself.
-Steve Irwin retired from TV a little while ago and has a youtube channel where he uploads animal facts and shows them on camera. He also leads multiple non-profit organizations for rescue and preservation of endangered species worldwide.
-Kentaro Miura has excellent health and has no intention to stop drawing anytime soon.
-Gloria Trevi and Sergio Andrade end up in jail in Brazil.

-Regarding Fallout, you're going to have to need a completely different protagonist setup for joining the Enclave to be viable, this is because Autumn kills the protagonist's father and they'd legitimately have no reason to work with the Enclave even if we think Colonel Autumn is a genuine change of pace from their traditional genocidal mentality. I think something that could work is maybe have the Protagionist's father be more of a non-factor in alt-Fallout 3. Maybe have him be discovered to have died under specific circumstances or have a "your parents died and you are raised in the vault by someone else and then you find out your true origins", and while there are implications that the Enclave killed your parents, it is only accessible via a quest chain that requires you to not work with the Enclave.

-For New Vegas, I can see maybe the Courier's actions have more of an impact on the NCR and the Legion. Maybe it is possible to depending on the Courier's actions to convince Kimball to embrace a more diplomatic form of expansionism or get a more benevolent leader like Allgood Murphy in charge of the NCR, while a evil Karma run with the NCR ends up with the NCR going Fascist with Moore in charge or a fully corrupt Kimball embracing the worst vices of the pre-war world. For the Legion maybe it is possible for the Legion to embrace technology and maybe become a saner "Res Publica of Nova Roma" than what they are OTL(NOTE: The character of Murphy and a lot of these situations like a Fascist NCR led by Moore and a Sane Legion are inspired by a HOI4 mod, maybe they exist in alt-Fallout due to butterflies). I feel for the DLCs, rather than Ulysses(who would be a companion this time around), we could have Victor Presper as the big bad instead or Elijah surviving the events of Dead Money(maybe he somehow escapes) and him having to be dealt with as the ultimate DLC villain.

-I think for Fallout 4 the Brotherhood could still play a role, we could have them be an expedition of the Midwest Brotherhood rather than the DC Brotherhood. Definitely replace the Minutemen with say US army remnants and make the Railroad more fleshed out, maybe they could be neo-Communists seeking to unify the wasteland under socialism, seeing the Consumerism and Fascist militarism of the pre-war gov as causing the world to end--which is a correct viewpoint except they glorify Cheng's China, a totalitarian hellhole, and the player could influence them to create a wholesome Socialist state or have them wallow in their delusions and become 1984 Maoist tankies embracing the worst of pre-war China depending on Karma, while the US army remnants want to restore the US but make sure they live up to their values this time, through they could easily become Enclave 2.0 if the player influences them to a terminal case of Old World Blues and subsequently a dark place where they repeat the Fascism of the past with bad Karma choices. We could have the initial conflict be between the revolutionaries and the US army remnants, but the Institute and the Brotherhood soon emerge as new powers.

-For alt-Skyrim, I don't think joining the Thalmor is viable unless for a secret evil elf starting race path. The issue here is that they are closer to Fallout 2's Enclave in that they literally seek to eventually kill everyone rather than "maybe we should rule the Wasteland as a harsh fascist autocracy rather than kill everyone" of Col. Autumn and Caesar's Legion. Personally I'd have the Thalmor as the Big Bad, while Harkon and Alduin are the DLC big bads instead and the threat of the Dragons in general is slowly built up over main game side quests and the DLC content like with OTL New Vegas DLC series(serving as a fantasy counterpart to Presper or a souped-up Elijah).

Books:

-George R.R.Martin finished the ASOIAF books in 2018,
-J.K. Rowling expressed her controversial opinions earlier, around 2010, this resulted in her losing prestige earlier, the HP franchise in theaters did not have spin-offs like Fantastic Beasts but a reboot series is in works like OTL (without Rowling's involvement ).

Music:

-Michael Jackson did not die in 2009, he continued his career until 2020 and then retired, he is currently working to have his life adapted into a film (OOC: I never understood why there isn't a film about him in OTL, does anyone know?),
-Chester is still alive too.
-All of the musicians who died violent or unexpected deaths in OTL are alive and well.

TV:

-There is no Dragon Ball Super, much less the film Battle of Gods, Akira Toryama saw reason and is retired.
-The Pokemon anime followed the path we know until Sinnoh, but from Unova a new protagonist was introduced and each following Region started to have a different protagonist, in the Galar season the protagonist, after narrowly defeating Leon, faces the true Champion of Champions, the only one who defeated Leon: a young adult Ash Ketchum who defeats all of the protagonist's Pokemon using only Pikachu of course, it is also revealed that Ash and Dawn are dating and Ash is now Frontier Brain from the Battle of Frontier of Kanto .

Movies:

-Heath Ledger didn't die, so Nolan could end his Batman trilogy with a different film that had the Riddler (played by DiCaprio) as the main villain and the Joker having to face a trial that could sentence him to death and Batman opposing they give him the death penalty, in the end like in Rises more or less, Batman sacrifices himself to deactivate a Riddler bomb and the Joker is left in a catatonic state in Arkham because of it.,
-Warner has less toxic people in charge, DC starts a successful Cinematic Universe to compete with the MCU, but this is because each director gets a certain hero, Snyder only gets Superman, while a more renowned director takes over Justice League movies and is "DC's Kevin Feige" role to plan the connections.,a Batman Vs Superman movie NEVER happens,we got a World's Finnest movie.
-Disney becomes a little less greedy with the MCU after Endgame, which is why only the series Wandavision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki and Moon Knight are made initially.

Games:

-I don't know... most of the computer games on Steam are free because Steam itself pays the creators to make the games free for everyone? (let me dream),
-Nintendo is not so paranoid and abusive with fan games, which is why Pokemon Uranium is still well distributed on the Internet.

The Jackson family probably, mainly Katherine but also his siblings who all had an intense love-hate relationship with Michael and are so messed up I don't know if they could even plan one.
Idk who will have rights after she dies but it probably still won't be made.

Hiya! thanks for bothering checking this lmao
My fault here for not going super in-depth with the plot of each of these alternate games

1.ATL Fallout 3 has a protagonist with a very different and independent backstory, the only similarity being that they still hail from a vault. They'll still meet Liam Nesson's character (I really forgot what the MC's dad name was lol) but he will not be related to your character, so when the enclave kills him there's not a personal vendetta against them. I really hated the decision they made for the protagonist in this game because for one, it limits a lot what you can roleplay as. If you wanted to be idk, an old man scavenger, you're rekt because your character can only be 18 years old. Second, there's that extremely boring and long intro (All bethesda games have long ass intros tbh but the fallout 3 one was specially boring to me for some reason)

2.I like your ideas for New Vegas's factions. It is implied in the endings that the courier can have serious impact like when they bring evidence against the caravan monopolies in Cass's mission but that's about it. The sense of impact is really hurt by the fact that this game doesn't have a post game, which is the one thing i'd add to this game.
I'd also add emphasis to the cut content civilian settlements of the Legion. What we see of the legion in the Mojave is basically all military and the fact we never see actual legion civilians kinda makes it difficult to humanize them or at least think of them as more than Desert roman ISIS. Also i think it'd be interesting if there were other options for the platinum chip, in particular, giving it to the Followers and giving it to the Brotherhood (I heard the followers were originally going to be a full on faction and could be given the chip but were reduced to a side faction due to time restraints. Meanwhile i'd like to see an entire brotherhood ending of the game, starting with the courier revitalizing the decaying Brotherhood with Veronica's ideas, perhaps making themselves the Elder, followed by a brotherhood conquest of New Vegas and finishing with the battle of Hoover dam)

Also, Presper?? Nice Van Buren reference :openedeyewink:

3.Nice ideas for ATL fallout 4. The idea of canonizing the midwest brotherhood appeals to me as someone who enjoyed the forgotten Fallout tactics a lot. Also i kinda like the minutemen the way they are? it makes sense to me that some people would try to gather and form a community the way they are trying to in-game, but the us army remnants thing also seems like a good idea i hadn't considered.

4.Something i thought of maybe for the thalmor is to have multiple factions inside the thalmor themselves, drawing parallels with otl CCP/NSDAP/etc... Some factions would be more ok with the existence of other races, only seeking that the Altmer rule over the rest of them, others would try to seek a pan-elfic sentiment of sorts looking for the integration of Dunmer, Orcs and Wood elves as arms of the movement, and there'd of course be the supremacist factions who believe only Altmer should exist (Perhaps a more obscure faction based on that theory that says the Thalmor want to undo reality to return to be Et'ada).
I like your idea for Alduin as main villain of the dragonborn DLC, though i'd still want Miraak involved on it, i think he was a cool villain. I'd also make it so that in Dawnguard you have the option to either accept Serana's help or go full extremist with the Dawnguard's ideas and have Serana killed, keeping the elder scroll to yourself, and on the other side have a more visible effect of Harkon's plan to block the sun, just like that New Vegas mod where you can carry out Elijah's plan and it reflects in the Mojave.

All this talk makes me want to do a full on alternate Bethesda TL, but i'd need a lot of research for that so it might be for another day. Thanks for reading have a nice day! ^^

Honestly, I don't think the Legion should be given "positive points".

There are societies in history that are genuinely just brutal, murderous, and power-seeking, usually ones that form out of unrest around a charismatic leader. Things like Charles Taylor's Liberia or the Khmer Rouge.

I think if you want a "logical" Evil path, you go NCR or House. The Legion exists because it is a Project Mayhem Fight Club insane fascist/masculinist war manifesto created by a man who doesn't even understand Hegelian dialectics.

I don't think Tyler Durden needs to have some "positive points", the point is that his society was formed out of violence and is based intrinsically to an unprecedented degree in fascistic violence. Caesar's delusions of eloquence and some greater goal are fantasies. He's a nerd who wants to be a badass, and created an entire belief system to justify it. Even Lanius, who is the violent barbarian warmonger, can be talked to and come to the conclusion that this whole thing with conquering Vegas and California is pretty stupid for a runaway tribal confederation to do.

That's my take, though, and I'm not trying to judge anyone who disagrees.

It's November 1994, Tupac got robbed in the studio, when robber about to pull the trigger, 2Pac's famous friend, Biggie passing by just in time, he rushed into the robber and take the bullet for Tupac. Then Tupac killed those robber. Biggie was sent to the hospital for the surgery, Tupac by Biggie side the whole time. Thanks God, Biggie survived.

From that day, Tupac and Biggie became the long life best friend, 2Pac never forget what Biggie did for him in that night

In June 1996, Tupac released a song that called "Hit Em Up", it's talking about the story of that night, Biggie saved his life, Tupac killed the robber. The whole song come down is spreading his love and appreciation to Biggie.

Until 2023, Bigge and Tupac had been make songs together for 28 years.

OTL while Tupac got that 5 shots, Biggie and his team is at the other floor, then 2Pac insisted that Biggie is behind this assassination attempt, their friendship ended forever, the war between the West coast and East coast outbreak......

Cool.
The Jackson family probably, mainly Katherine but also his siblings who all had an intense love-hate relationship with Michael and are so messed up I don't know if they could even plan one.
Idk who will have rights after she dies but it probably still won't be made.
Ouch.......

That's great that Tupac and Biggie is around!

Surprised there's no Chrono Trigger, Live A Live, Bahamut Lagoon, or Dragon Quest on there.

Had one yesterday but was too busy to post it but
what if Tegan Jovanka left the doctor entirely after time flight and Nyssa of traken was the era defining companion and continues to bring in high ratings for the show with her sporadic appearances during the colin baker and sylventer McCoy eras leading to the show not being cancelled in 1989
@Otakuninja2006 @TheFaultsofAlts @ExowareMasses @farmerted555 and @OldNavy1988
You'd have to have anyone other than Michael Grade as BBC Director-General for that to happen.

Disney Interactive Studios producing much better games than they did in OTL.

In my alternate 2000s they made sci fi games that are of the same quality as games like the "Mass Effect Trilogy" and "Horizon Zero Dawn".

They also made games like this aimed at younger generations that had good stories with good characters.

The Mass Effect 4 of this TL is much better than OTL Andromeda.

In the 2010s of this alternate timeline the "Sci-fi" Channel did not rebrand into "Syfy" but instead ended up becoming a producer of prestige sci fi.

Asimov's "Foundation", Alastair Reynold's "Revelation Space", and Mass Effect are adapted as big budget TV shows and receive universal acclaim.

In this 2010s they are the big pop culture phenomenons like GOT in OTL 2010s thanks to a more optimistic American society with many less social problems and a better space program.
